 Optimize Your CAPE Refund Process with ACE Reports 

In an effort to help to facilitate the preparation and monitoring of CAPE declaration submissions by the trade community, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued CSMS # 68536553 - U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) ACE Reports for Monitoring CAPE Refund Claims, which provides a brief overview of several key ACE reports that will help importers track the status of their claims and refunds.

CAPE Entry Summary Report (ES-022)

This report facilitates tracking the refund process by linking entry, CAPE declaration, and refund identifiers for claims that have been filed.

CAPE Details Refunds Report (REV-615)

This report serves as an extension of REV-603 and provides entry summary-level details for CAPE declarations that have been sent to Treasury.

Trade Refund Report (REV-603)

This report monitors CAPE declarations through these "Refund Secondary Status" categories, after the refund is received by Treasury.

    • Sent to Treasury: Approved claim has been sent to Treasury.
    • Treasury Issued: Confirms refund has been officially disbursed.
    • Funds Diverted: Refunds have been applied to outstanding CBP debts.
    • ACH Returned: Refund has been rejected due to incomplete ACH refund enrollment in the ACE Secure Data Portal.

ACH Rejected Refunds Report (REV-613)

This report identifies refunds that have been rejected/returned due to incomplete ACH Refund enrollment in the ACE Secure Data Portal.
