Adjustments to Applicability of Some Section 232 and IEEPA Tariffs
New White House Actions on Tuesday made some changes to the Section 232 tariffs, including updates to the 25% tariffs set to be imposed upon many automobile parts on May 3rd.
Highlights
- A 25% Section 232 tariff will still go into effect as planned on May 3rd
- List of affected parts can be found in the Federal Register – Adjusting Imports Of Automobiles And Automobile Parts Into the United States
- If a product is subject to the IEEPA Fentanyl tariffs for products of Canada or Mexico, then it will not be subject to an additional Section 232 aluminum or steel tariff
- Adjustments made to the application of duties on products listed on the Section 232 aluminum and steel tariff lists
