Section 232 Increases for Upholstered Furniture and Kitchen Cabinets Delayed
In a new Presidential Proclamation, the Trump Administration has postponed the planned increases to Section 232 tariffs targeting upholstered furniture, kitchen cabinets and vanities that were set to take effect on January 1st for a period of one year (to January 1, 2027).
Please note that the current import tariffs (10% for UK, 15% for Japan and EU and 25% for all other countries) on certain upholstered furniture, kitchen cabinets, and vanities, as imposed under the Sept. 25, 2025 order remain in effect.
This also has no impact on the softwood timber and lumber tariff. The current 10% Section 232 for all countries remains in effect.
We will continue to keep you informed of any relevant changes.
