New Section 301 Tariffs for Certain Products of Brazil
Effective July 22, 2026
Impacted goods of Brazilian origin, entered for consumption or withdrawn for consumption from July 22 and later, will be subject to an additional 25% Section 301 tariff.
In a press release late yesterday, the USTR announced this action in conclusion to an investigation that determined that several of Brazil's measures – specifically those concerning digital trade and electronic payment services, unfair and preferential tariffs, anti-corruption interference, intellectual property protection, ethanol market access and illegal deforestation – are unreasonable and impose restrictive burdens on US commerce.
